ACES Jordan completed the site investigation for the Aqaba LNG and LPG project in September 2013 to be constructed on the southern shore of Aqaba, Jordan. A total of thirty (30) boreholes were drilled at the project site where fourteen (14) of these boreholes were drilled onshore and the remaining sixteen (16) boreholes were drilled offshore. The investigated depths ranged from 15 to 30m below the existing ground surface for the onshore boreholes and from 25m to 40m below the seabed for the offshore boreholes. The offshore drilling was executed using two Jack-up Pontoons for different water depths up to 20m.  The investigation also included geophysical field investigation and laboratory testing among others.

ACES Doha recently started work in a new port project in Doha, Qatar with Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. LTD, The scope of work covers physical and chemical testing of soil, concrete and asphalt. ACES Doha also recently started providing new services for testing of Betonite samples as will as testing by Gas Chromatography to expand the testing facilities for chemical analysis of sewage water, drinking water, soil chemical, among others.

ACES held its 9TH Annual Conference on December 10-12, 2013 at Al Bustan Palace Hotel in Muscat, Oman under the theme “ Reviving ACES”. The attendees included the Partners & Directors of ACES, Dr. Izz Eddin Katkhuda & Dr. Omar Abdulhadi, the Regional Manager for KSA, Jordan and Yemen, Dr. Amjad Barghouthi, and 10 managers from the corporate headquarters and regional offices. The conference was a great success by every measure, including highly informative presentations by the attendees, visit to ACES Muscat in Muscat, Oman, city tour and entertainment.
ACES-Khartoum participated in Sudan Projex Exhibition

The Global Exhibition for The Sudan project -that was held in Khartoum International Fair Ground, in Burri, from the 10th to the 13th of December 2013. It was organized in cooperation with Egyptian company ( Arabian Group for Development ) & Sudanese company (Akam advanced technical co.). It took place under the patronage of Minister of Industry.

Based on its corporate social responsibility values and its interest in serving the local community, and in an effort to lend a hand to the children in need, ACES continued its support of the Gift of Life Charitable Society(GOLA), by donating six thousand dinars to conduct a heart surgery for a child who suffers from chronic heart disease. Dr. Omar Abdulhadi, the Partner & Director of Arab Center for Engineering Studies (ACES), stated in this regard that ACES is always dedicated to lending support to the local community in general and saving the lives of children and facilitating their treatment in particular, stressing on the fact that this forms part of ACES values and involvement in charitable initiatives and noble causes to extend a helping hand and assistance to the needy in the local community. It is worth noting that ACES is a member of the Global Compact Program since 2008, and is very active in CSR activities, including the contribution to the well-being of the Society, the preservation of the environment, the improvement of health care and education and the protection of ACES employees, among other initiatives.
