30 Oct 2016

ACES Jordan has recently completed the site investigation for Al Fujeij Wind Farm to be constructed South of Jordan between Shoubaq and Qadisiyah.

The development involves the construction of 89.11MW “Wind Farm” consisting of twenty seven (27) Wind Turbines (V126 3.3MW), each with an approximate height of about 110m. Additionally, the project will also consist of the construction of several smaller substations, service structures, met masts along with access roads and hardstands.

The scope of the investigation consisted of drilling sixty one (61) boreholes to depths ranging from 25m to 35m below the ground surface, excavating 24 test pits up to 4m depth, conducting extensive in-situ testing including standard penetration test, pressuremeter test, and soil electrical resistivity tests. Geophysical surveys were also carried out including downhole seismic testing, seismic refraction and electrical resistivity tomography.

The project is one of many major utility-scale renewable energy projects in the kingdom that ACES Jordan has been awarded their geotechnical investigation work.

The client is Vestas Wind System A/S and the contractor is Prenecon Green Energy Ltd
