ACES Dubai Completes Geotechnical Investigation for the Dubai Metro Red Line Extension

20 Jan 2016

ACES Dubai completed in late 2015 the site investigation work for the Metro Red Line Connection to Expo 2020 Site.

The proposed development aims to facilitate and support Dubai’s hosting of 2020 World Expo. Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is developing a link between the existing Dubai Metro Line adjacent to Sheikh Zayed Road to Expo 2020 near Al-Maktoum International Airport. The connection is around 12 km of track and comprises four new metro stations.

The scope of work in the project includes drilling of 19 boreholes to depths ranging from 30m to 50m below ground surface, excavation of 17 trial pits, and carrying out field tests including falling head permeability, packer permeability, and installation of standpipe piezometers in all boreholes.

The client is Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and the consultant is Parsons International.
