ACES Doha Geophysical Unit Completes Geophysical Survey for New Orbital Highway Project

ACES Doha Geophysical Unit has recently completed the geophysical survey for new orbital highway and truck route (Contract 3) for Leighton Contracting Qatar WLL - Al Jaber Engineering LCC Joint Venture. This project is a 55km new dual carriageway that includes five grade-separated interchanges. It is located to the west and south of Doha City, and will provide connection between three projects of the Expressway program.

The geophysical survey was completed by performing of 85.5km of survey lines for 3 interchanges and 4 depression zones with a potential of karst features along the highway using Multi-Channel Analysis of Seismic Surface Waves (MASW) and Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) survey methods.

ACES Doha Geophysical Unit is part of the Geophysical Regional Center of Excellence (RCE), which is strategically located in Dubai-UAE to serve ACES clients and ACES offices across the region. The RCE offers a wide range of geophysical services including surface seismic survey, borehole seismic survey, electrical survey, standard borehole logging methods and marine geophysical surveys.
